Pramod Jaiswal
About Artist
Pramod Jaiswal presents his works through mix-media as a deeply personal inquiry into the
realms of the human mind where the former informs his political being. Utilising readily
available supplies, Pramod masterfully delves into the psychology of colours and forms, creating
a richly textured, luminsicent miasma of dark shaded abstraction, enveloping almost the entirety
of his canvas. The particularly distinct, sui generis, making of his surfaces, achieved through a
painfully tedious scribbling and cuts of pen on paper, is a quiet and solitarily experienced
expressiveness, highlighting the fissures, and a festering sense of vagueness in our own lives.
A calculated, and serious reflection on life and its trivialities guides his works. Through his
intelligently designed and crafty sculptures, he satirises the condition of the modern day
education system, laying bare its institutional cant. In the purlieus of his transforming inner self
thus exists an intimate process of sedimentation of thoughts which is constantly channelled
through his outlook on life and art practice.
